THE STRUCTURE OF THE GEOLOGICAL TIME FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE REAL DYNAMIC CYCLES OF THE EARTH

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Ticleanu, Mircea)

Every cyclic geological phenomenon may sugge st a structural image of the geological time. The dynamic cycles with very long periods can characterize the whole geological time, but especially the Precambrian. The cy cles with periods between 4 and 26 Ma are useful for the temporal individualization of th e Phanerozoic and the cycles with a short periods are very representative for Cenozoic. But the Earth’s geological history also provides a good perspective over the cosmic time through a super-mega-cycle (~2.56 Ga...

In recent years major advances in monitoring processes of sectoral control systems have been observed as well as the lack of interope rability of spatial info rmation systems. In the frame of the EuroGEOSS project inte roperability between Drought Management Centre for South-Eastern Europe (DMC SEE) and European Drought Observatory (EDO) has been developed. For interoperability processes open source tools and Open Geo-data Interoperability Specifications (OpenGIS) were used.

Petrographic study of the Qamchuqa Formation reveals that the skeletal and some non- skeletal grains within the limestone a nd dolomitic limestone beds are the main components of this formation. Micritizati on, cementation, neom orphism, compaction, dissolution and dolom...

BLINDNESS, ANALYSIS AND DIAGNOSTIC

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Lichev, Lachezar)

Main goal of our research is to find some way how to help colour blind people to distinct the entities with differe nt colours. So far it is impo ssible to develop some kind of device or computer algorithm to let the colour blind man see in the same way as healthy man. So, we try to transform pictures (both static pictures and dynamic pictures from computer camera) to let the person with diagnosed colour deficiency see there as many details as possible. Algorithm that we have researched deals with transformation o...

THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF GOLD EXTRACTION BY THE CYANIDE PROCESS

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Cristea, Lidia)

Gold is a precious metal extracted and used since ancient times. The present paper analyzes the properties and characteristics of gold in terms of physical-mechanical properties and the process of its extraction from ore. After extraction of tons of low grade gol d ore using sodium cyanide (NaCN) are obtained two grams of gold and there are left mining waste dumps containing 25-50% gold. The technological process of cyanide not only shows a low efficiency of extraction, but it also brings great risks in terms of e...

APPLICATION OF SEGREGATION ROASTING AND FLOTATION BY RECOVERY OF CU FROM HELP MATERIALS FROM ZB SLOVINKY

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Kučerová, Radmila)

Further to the global trend of using wastes as secondary resources, also in the Czech and Slovak Republic there is an emphasis on the new benefication of wastes in terms of their further utilization and recycling in technological processes. The utilization of wastes does not only broaden the raw material base, but it also helps to save the primary sources of minerals as well as there are lower costs of waste transport, dumping and disposal thanks to their complex utilization. The paper deals with the application o...

THE ROLE OF THE HYDROLOGICAL FACTORS IN THE FORMATION OF FIELD CONCENTRATIONS AND FLUXES OF REDUCED GASES, AND MERCURY IN THE SEA OF AZOV

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Fedorov, Yury)

The paper provides an analysis of long-term field studies in the Sea of Azov. The sea is rich in organic life and is characterized as one of the most bioproductive reservoirs in the world. During the periods of calm weathe r the stratification of water mass forms the fields of hypoxia in some areas of the sea. In the bottom layers of water pockets of hydrogen sulfide and elevated concentrations of methane and mercury are found. Mercury coming from both natural and anthropogenic sources is a priority pollutant for ...

SORKHE-DIZAJ IRON OXIDE - APATITE DEPOSIT, NORTHWEST IRAN: MINERALOGY, TEXTURE, STRUCTURE AND ALTERATION

(Stef92 Technology, 2011-06-20, Ghaderi, Majid)

Sorkhe-Dizaj iron oxide - apatite deposit is located within the Cenozoic Tarom volcano- plutonic belt in southeast of Zanjan, northwest Iran. The oldest units at the Sorkhe-Dizaj area are of Eocene age including trachyte, trachyandesite and andesitic tuffs intruded by quartz-monzonite, monzonite and granite plutons of Upper Eocene-Oligocene. The syn- to post-orogenic island arc magmatism and th e plutonic rocks show characteristics of I- type granites. Mineralization in the area is divided into th ree main zones (...
